Viet Nam General Corporation of Agricultural Materials was founded on June 1st, 1960.

At the first stage it was the Department of Means of Agrilculturalproduction directly under the Ministry of Internal Trade then it was changed into Agricultural Materials Department directly under the Ministry of Agriculture. Since 1970 up to now it is Viet Nam General Corporation of Agricultural Materials.

In the years under subsidy mechanism, this entity was assigned by the state and the Ministry of Argicutureto receive maintain and distribute in accordance with legal norms issued by the state all types of fertilizer imported underthe protocol signed between the Vietnamese Government and the former soviet Union and Eastern European countries.

The whole branch has been awarded many orders and diploma of merit by the Government, the Ministry of Agriculture and the People’s Committees of Provinces.

At present, the Vietnam General Corporation of Agriculture Materials is a state run business ( a state-owned company) that has been assigned to import and supply 6% of the amount of fertilizer required by the whole country, mainly nitrogen, postassium, mixed fertilizers, and produce micro-biological phosphate fertilizer.

The corporation has long time experienced and qualified staffs, storage facilities with capacity of over 200.000 MT of chemical fertilizer located at 3 main import juntionsthat are HaiPhong, DaNangand SaiGon. In addition, it has some sub –companies that are in charge of trading materials in service of agricutureproduction. Vietnam General Corporation of AgricutureMaterials has trading relations with many great firms in the world, and it is step by step expanding its business network, gaining the confidence of customers at home and abroad

At present, its fertilizer business and distribution activities have effectively served agricuturalproduction contributed to stabilizing fertilizer prices in the whole country.
