Ninh Thuan Agricultural Products Export Company (NITAGREX) started its construction in 1998 and began its operation in April, 1999. After about 7 years, it has grown to take an important role of economic development for Ninh Thuan province. Until the year 2006, it has an annual capacity of 5,000 tons of cashew kernel and employs 7,000 local labours. This contributes significantly in executing the economy - structure - transit policy of provincial authorities. As one of Vietnam leader enterprises in the cashew industry including processing and export, the company has asserted its position in the development tendency of national economy. Having the size of a state-owned enterprise of class 2, NITAGREX was established under the Provincial People’ Committee’s decision and licensed for the following activities:
- Purchasing, producing, processing, and trading cashew kernels in domestic or overseas markets;
- Trading and exporting agricultural products: including cashew nuts or kernels, manioc flour, yellow corns, beans, and others...
- Importing equipment, materials, consumer products, transport vehicles, and cashew materials...
- Doing import and export by madate for third party;
- Cooperating in investment and technology transfer in cashew industry.
- Main markets of export: USA, China, Australia, EU, Canada, Korea, Newzealand,...
