Mangiferin is a natural extract from mango leaves Mangifera indica L. Anacardiaceae with antiviral activities.
:: COMPOSITION:
Mangoherpin capsule: Each capsule contains Mangiferin 100 mg
Mangoherpin cream 5%: Each tube of 10 g contains Mangiferin 0.5 g
Mangoherpin cream 2% & Mangoherpin gel 2%: Each tube 10 g contains Mangiferin 0.2 g
:: PHARMACOLOGY:
Pharmacodynamics:
Mangiferin has antihepertic activity with inhibitory effect on the early stages of reproduction of Herpes virus.
Mangiferin has an immunostimulating effect on both cellular and humoral immunity link.
Pharmacokinetics:
Pharmacokinetics of Mangiferin in the blood after oral administration:
A small amount of free Mangiferin is observed in the blood plasma after single use of Mangiferin at dose range between 50 mg/kg and 1000 mg/kg. Plasma level of Mangiferin is not over 0.05 µg/ml over 24-hour follow-up. Mangiferin metabolite is not detected in the blood within 24 hours after oral administration. Excretion of free Mangiferin in the urine is not over 0.1% within 24 hours.
Pharmacodynamics of Mangiferin in the blood after topical application of ointment:
Free Mangiferin and Mangiferin metabolite are not observed in the blood within 24 hours after topical application of ointment on the skin.
:: INDICATION:
Acute and recurrent forms of herpes virus infections of extragenital and genital localizations including Herpes simplex, Herpes zoster (Shingles), Varicella, Kaposi herpetiform eczema and viral diseases of buccal mucosa.
:; DOSAGE AND ADMINISTRATION:
Therapy should be done with the combination of two dosage forms: Mangoherpin capsule 100 mg (oral route) and Mangoherpin gel or cream (topical application)
Capsule 100 mg:
Adult and children over 12: 1-2 capsules, 3-4 times a day.
Children of 6-12 years: 1 capsule, 2-3 times a day.
